Recently I’ve been looking for a piece of artwork to hang above the dresser in the bedroom. Since I would be seeing it each day after waking up, it’s been taking me a long time to decide on what to hang. I’ve always had lots of black & white photography displayed throughout my home and have a small gallery of prints in the front hallway. But none of those images were bedroom material.
Then I discovered photos.com and their amazing collection of high-quality prints from Getty’s collection. What better place to find the perfect image to hang above the dresser? After a brief browse around the site I saw the LIFE archive and a photo came to mind that I’ve always wanted – Steve McQueen sitting in a bath with his wife. Sure enough they had this exact image so I placed my order and my framed image arrived within a few days ready to hang on the wall.
Photos.com offers a wide selection from Getty Images’ collection of specialty photography, including architecture, americana, abstract and contemporary images. And while the photos themselves cover the usual array of topics that you might want to hang on your wall such as landscapes, and black and white photos my favorite stuff is are the images from the archives. The LIFE archive represents thousands of famed images and both the vintage (specifically curiosities) and fashion collections are fun to browse through. The photos.com pinterest is a great way to see curated sets of their immense collection of photos as well as some great inspiration.
The photos are very affordable and are all available on canvas, archival paper, aluminum, acrylic, and even wood. This will certainly not be the last photo I purchase from them.
